Henan's superhard material industry has a rich soil, and China University of Geosciences (Beijing) has obvious advantages in the fields of geology, geological resources and geological engineering, jewelry and mineral materials. Since August 2020, the Zhengzhou Research Institute of China University of Geosciences (Beijing) (hereinafter referred to as Northland Zhengzhou Research Institute) has been put into operation, and has achieved a number of scientific research achievements in the fields of high-pressure physics, diamond jewelry, 5G new materials, and micro-nano manufacturing.

Access to amorphous alloys with diamond-like wear resistance with the aid of high-throughput methods

Diamond-like materials exhibit excellent friction and wear properties due to their ultra-high hardness and self-lubricating ability. However, the application of diamond-like materials is limited to coatings and fillers for composites due to environmental factors such as humidity, temperature, atmosphere and size limitations. Metals are more widely used than diamond-like materials. However, metals tend to have lower hardness and lack self-lubricating ability, and the friction and wear performance of most metallic materials is far inferior to that of diamond-like materials. Obtaining diamond-like friction and wear row performance in metallic materials will greatly broaden the choice of wear-resistant materials.
